Banking and Finance (Turkish)

In our country, where the financial deepening is gradually increasing, the financial services sector has been increased in role and importance. The need for specialised employees is increasing of financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, intermediary firms, etc., which hire unspecialised employees when needed. Since the universities in our country offer mainly theoretical education, these institutions provide their employees with trainings based on practice. As the School of Applied Sciences, our difference is that we provide our students with applied vocational education which combines the theory with practice. This is a crucial advantage.

The main aim of the Department is to cultivate students into qualified employees who have qualifications required by the national and international financial institutions in the monetary and capital market sector, and who have analytical thinking skills, are questioning, and have research skills. In addition to theory based education, the Department of Banking and Finance aims to offer an education based on the practices of the market, and supported with a traineeship and practice.

Graduates of the Department of Banking and Finance have various career opportunities. They can be employed in various institutions in the public or private sector, some of which are BDDK (BRSA – Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency), SPK (CMBT – Capital Markets Board of Turkey), public, participation, and private banks, and other public institutions, factoring, forfaiting, and leasing companies, insurance companies, consulting firms, security intermediaries, and private sector institutions.

In working and daily life which was reshaped as a result of globalising and technological changes, the scope of activity of banks and financial institutions are constantly expanding, and the institutions are increasing in importance. The Department of Banking and Finance within the School of Applied Sciences aims to educate our students in accordance with the growing demands of the sector.

The Department offers Turkish-medium education. English Preparatory Programme is optional.
